It can be so easy to pop into your local drugstore or national chain shop (with a mask on, of course) and purchase your body and skin care products, I know, because I used to do this.
However, have you ever looked at the ingredients on the backs of these items? Has it ever crossed your mind about how long they’ve been sitting on those shelves? Who made the products, where were they made and poured? What about all the plastic and unnecessary packaging these companies are using, even though they know better?
So many questions… Deep breath.
1. Ingredients
You don’t have to worry at all with our products, because the ingredients are organic, and many of our plants are grown right in our own island gardens. Very cool. I, myself, have researched each and every ingredient to make sure they’re ethically sourced and non-GMO. It’s super important to me what goes inside my products, so I made it easy for you to feel absolutely safe when using any of my products.
2. Small Batch
When body and skin care are purchased in a large chain store, who knows how long they’ve been there? And, this is one of the reasons why those companies have to put in harmful chemicals to preserve their stuff.
Yuck. We don’t do this.
Because, we make everything in small batches! So, nothing has been on a shelf for very long at all. It’s not uncommon for a shopper to buy a product in our shoppe on the island and for me to say, “I just made that this morning!” In fact, we sell out of most of our products within 1 month in our busy season and, at the most, 3-4 months in the off-season.
3. True Pricing
Another reason companies use chemicals to preserve their stuff, is because water is the often the main ingredient. Guess why? So they can water them down and make more money. I don’t think that’s nice at all.
We price each product according to the costs of the plants and other ingredients. I don’t rip people off, because I was raised better and I don’t do that.
4. Female Owned & Operated
Oh! And, another reason to shop with us is because we are a 100% Women-owned and operated micro-business. Not too many are.
5. Pure Products
Do you like animals, clean water and pure air? OntkOrganix is pure and when you buy from us, you also support the Earth. We package every item in eco-friendly containers – no plastic that often ends up in the tummies of sea turtles. Even our labels are eco-friendly and biodegradable. We think that’s pretty cool. Also, no animals are ever used for testing. (Only humans and husbands are used.)
